From September 7–13, 2026, some of the best virtual tennis players in the world came together for the World Tennis Esports Championships 2026 Finals.
What followed was much more than a tournament. It was a week of competition, pressure, spectacular rallies, community, sportsmanship and international friendship — culminating in a dramatic three-set championship match that delivered everything a World Championship Final should.
At the end of an unforgettable week, MasterJohann stood at the top of the Tennis Esports world. But the road to the title was anything but easy.
The Best of the Tennis Esports Community Come Together
The WTEC 2026 Finals represented the culmination of months of competition inside Tennis Esports.
Throughout the season, players competed in ranked events, national competitions and qualification tournaments, all with one goal in mind: to earn a place among the players competing for the World Championship.
The final stage brought together established champions, leading competitors and some of the strongest players from the international Tennis Esports community.
The top eight seeded players entering the championship were:

They were joined by another group of strong competitors, creating a field in which virtually every match had the potential to become a major battle. And that is exactly what happened.
It Started as a Competition – But Also as a Community Event
Before the serious competition began, the players were invited to meet each other at the official WTEC Welcome Party on September 7 inside the Tennis Esports Social Club.
For one hour, competition took a back seat. Players who would shortly face each other on the virtual court could meet, talk and enjoy the atmosphere together.
It was an important reminder of something that has become increasingly significant within Tennis Esports: Players may be opponents during a match, but they are also members of the same global community.
They come from different countries, different cultures and different backgrounds, connected by the same passion for tennis and virtual sport. That spirit accompanied the championship throughout the entire week.
Then the Competition Began
Once the first ball was played, however, friendship had to temporarily make room for competition. The WTEC Finals demanded consistency, concentration and the ability to perform under pressure.
Every point mattered. Every service game mattered. Every mistake could potentially decide whether a player advanced or saw their World Championship journey come to an end.
Unlike traditional esports games controlled with buttons or joysticks, Tennis Esports requires players to perform real tennis movements. The forehand must be swung. The backhand must be played. The serve must be controlled. Timing, positioning, racket movement, spin and tactical decision-making all become part of the competition.
That physical component gives Tennis Esports matches a unique character. And as the tournament progressed toward its decisive weekend, the level of competition continued to increase.
The Final Four
Eventually, four players remained.

- DiSalvio
- LumberJack
Four players. Two semifinal matches. Two places in the WTEC 2026 Final.
Semifinal: MasterJohann vs. Crocodilieous
The first semifinal matched MasterJohann against Crocodilieous, one of the strongest seeded players in the competition.
MasterJohann immediately established control of the match. Playing aggressively and consistently, he built a 5–1 lead and put himself into a commanding position.
The match was ultimately stopped at that point, with MasterJohann being awarded the semifinal victory.
That meant the first finalist had been decided. MasterJohann was going to play for the WTEC title. The question was: Who would meet him?
Semifinal: DiSalvio vs. LumberJack
The second semifinal could hardly have been more different. DiSalvio vs. LumberJack developed into a battle that demonstrated just how small the margins can become at the highest level of Tennis Esports.
Neither player was willing to give the other an easy path into the final. The match eventually came down to a decisive tiebreak. Point after point, the pressure increased.
And finally, at 10–8 in the tiebreak, DiSalvio secured the victory.

It was enough to send him into the biggest match of the tournament. The WTEC 2026 Final was set.
WTEC 2026 Final: MasterJohann vs. DiSalvio
A World Championship should end with a match worthy of the title. This one certainly did.
MasterJohann and DiSalvio entered the final knowing that one victory separated them from becoming WTEC 2026 World Champion. And neither player was prepared to give it away.
🎾 First Set – MasterJohann Strikes First
MasterJohann started strongly. He was able to establish control during the opening set and, despite resistance from DiSalvio, converted his advantage.

One set away from the championship. But DiSalvio was not finished. Not even close.
Second Set – DiSalvio Fights Back
Facing the possibility of losing the championship in straight sets, DiSalvio responded exactly as a finalist should. He raised his level.
The rallies became increasingly important. The pressure increased. And this time it was DiSalvio who found the decisive advantage.
DiSalvio takes the second set 6–4.
One set each. After an entire season of competition and a full week of World Championship tennis, everything would now come down to one final set.
One Set for the World Championship
At this point there was nothing left to calculate. Nothing left to save. One set would determine the WTEC 2026 World Champion.
MasterJohann and DiSalvio continued to fight for every point. Neither player could afford a lapse in concentration. Neither could allow the other to build momentum.
The championship remained open deep into the deciding set. But eventually MasterJohann found the breakthrough he needed.
At 6–4, the deciding set — and the championship — belonged to him.

Three sets. Three 6–4 scorelines. And one new World Champion.
After surviving the tournament field, winning his semifinal and then overcoming a determined DiSalvio across three sets in the final, MasterJohann became the WTEC 2026 Champion. A deserved reward for an outstanding championship run.
🥈 A Championship Performance from DiSalvio
There can only be one World Champion. But DiSalvio’s WTEC performance deserves recognition of its own.
His dramatic semifinal victory against LumberJack had already demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure. Then, after losing the opening set of the final, he fought his way back into the championship by winning the second.
Even in the deciding set, the match remained competitive. His tournament ultimately ended just a few points short of the title.

The WTEC Finals were never only about the player lifting the trophy. Reaching this stage already required exceptional performances throughout the competition.
